Cross-country skiing and alpine skiing are only two of the numerous winter outdoors activities in the Gatineau Valley.
Seasons teeming
with activities

While snowmobiling and all-terrain enthusiasts converge on the region, so do skiers and snowboarders. They’re out enjoying the slopes at Mont Ste-Marie, which is part of a select club as it’s one of Québec’s ten highest skiable hills.

Located on mounts Vanier and the Cheval Blanc, this ski station offers up every terrain imaginable. At nearly 400 metres, it is, by far the highest, west and north of Montréal after Mont-Tremblant.

Modern restaurant facilities, equipment rentals, a trendy ski shop with boutique featuring brand name items, and a reputable ski and snowboard school.

There are also opportunities to participate in other outdoor activities such as skating, cross-country skiing, tobogganing and dog sledding. (local businesses offer these activities).

Of course, we musn’t forget to mention that other all-Canadian sport: ice-fishing. Many lakes including the Baskatong allow fishing in winter.

The distinctive taste of maple

When spring arrives in the Gatineau Valley, it means one thing: maple syrup time!! The region has several maple syrup producers who offer a variety of services. They have all kept their family traditions when it comes to serving excellent meals and quality maple syrup products.
