Quad Trails Ready To Explore

There are any number of ways to discover the Gatineau Valley. Over the last several years, a regional club of 800 quad enthusiasts have developped an imposing network that covers over 850 kilometres, 630 km open year-round.

You can take short day trips or go expedition style, enjoying your stay along the way in campgrounds or in any of the numerous hotels and outfitters.

Several of the businesses that cater to quad riders act as relay stations. There are some who offer 1/2 day and 1-day rentals. You may also opt for a package deal that allows you to discover the region with a guide.

Events

Three major events are planned for the 2004 season.

Saturday, May 8th is the 31-Mile Lake Tour, a one-day event to be held on the trails in and around Montcerf-Lytton.

Maniwaki hosts the 5th Annual Rendez-Vous Quad International, August 13-14-15. A number of circuits in a variety of sectors of the region are offered to participants at this major event. They are generally 70 km-130 km in length, round-trip, with meal breaks at participating relays.

Come fall, is the 7th Annual Festival Quad Couleurs du Baskatong, to be held on October 9-10. This excursion is 170 km long and includes visits to Devil’s Mountain and Windigo Falls. For information call: 819-438-2271.
