The tour also includes the White-Tailed Deer Interpretive Centre located in the village of Ste-Thérèse-de-la-Gatineau.
Extending north to south
The Route des Draveurs : on the path of heritage and history

During your vacation in The Gatineau Valley discover the region, the fauna and flora, as well as the heritage and history.

You can experience life through the eyes of the locals, both past and present, by touring the Raftsmen Road. Extending north to south, between the La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve and the municipality of Messines, this historical tour consists of a number of attractions.

Visit the La Vérendrye Wildlife reserve and explore the Roland Lake Falls, the «Mysterious Forest» and «La Pointe» observation centre. Get to know our territory better by taking a walking tour along well-maintained footpaths, located at each of these sites. All feature interpretive material.

In Lytton, a picnic area is provided at the waterfalls of Quinn’s Creek. Visitors can learn about the work of the log drivers on thematic panels. In Grand-Remous, the Savoyard covered bridge is also well worth the visit.

Pythonga Theme Park, in Maniwaki, along the Desert River, is a rendez-vous for tourists and artists.
In Maniwaki, there are three attractions: the Parc des Draveurs with its interpretive signs and sculpture, the forest fire protection service Interpretive Centre at the Chateau Logue and the «Pythonga Theme Park» located along the Desert River.

The tour also includes the White-Tailed Deer Interpretive Centre located in the village of Ste-Thérèse-de-la-Gatineau. Visitors may read the plaques located along the footpath. (in French only).

Visitors can observe the forestry work undertaken in the Forêt de l’Aigle or enjoy an array of outdoor activities.

Aumond

A new site is open this year. It is the Moulin des Pères, located in the heart of Aumond on the Joseph River.
